The plug-in "Appearance\Files&Folders\Shortcuts\Shortcut Arrow" in XSET can be used to hide the arrow that is normally displays in the lower left corner of *.URL (Internet Shotcuts) files.
On Windows 98 and newer versions (2000,ME etc.) deactivating the display of the arrow will also deactivate the display of *any* URL file inside the Start -> Favorites folder. The Favorites menu inside Internet Explorer is not affected and displays all URL files as expected.
At the moment, the only solution is to activate the display of the arrow icon again.
