Created: 1999/03/27 Updated: 2000/08/12 Program: X-Setup (XSET)
When installing Xteq X-Setup, it will install all files that are needed to run X-Setup with one exception: the Microsoft Scripting Engine (MSE). This component is needed to execute the plug-ins and wizards properly. If the MSE is not installed or damaged, X-Setup will display mysterious errors like "A script engine for the specified language can not be created" or "An error has occurred in...".
If you need to install the MSE depends on your operation system and if you have Internet Explorer (IE) version 4.x or 5.x with activated "VBScript Support" installed. The reason for this is that IE 5.x allows you to disable the "VBScript Support" in which case XSET won't be able to run.
Note: If you have downloaded and installed all files but you still have only errors, try reinstalling X-Setup. In some very rare cases the setup of X-Setup fails if the MSE is not installed.
