Xteq Systems - Do more faster!

July 2000 - Xteq Announcement about X-Setup Support

Dear X-Setup Customer,

since we started the development of X-Setup some years ago, we never expected the unbelievable success we enjoy today. Especially since we appeared on the radar of the Lockergnome.com community, X-Setup is used by more and more people which is a fact that makes us extremely happy. We want to take this opportunity to thank all our users for their continued support and the entire Lockergnome.com community with their "spiritual" leader Chris Pirillo for making it possible!

However, we have reached a point where the Support inquiries are simply too much for us. When our user base was low, it was no problem to answer them directly and fast. But since this year our user base has risen extremely and so have the amount of support issues. Now it is far too much for us, so we can no longer provide this support service, sorry. Please believe us, we have tried our best to reduce the amount e.g. a FAQ list, more docs, checks before X-Setup will be run etc. but it's still far too much.

Starting today, all support questions regarding X-Setup (all other products are not affected) will be redirected to http://forums.delphiforums.com/xsetup/. We think this forum platform is ideal for our idea of a peer-2-peer help for X-Setup. At least two sysops from Xteq Systems will monitor this forum on a regular basis and provide answers if a problem can not be solved by the users. We will also use this forum to expand our FAQ list and major issues will be documented inside our Document Center at http://www.xteq.com/support/dc/. But most inquiries should be solved by other users, not by Xteq Systems. If you want to help us, please do so by helping other users! The most activate "helpers" will of course get more rights inside the forum plus they will be mentioned inside the X-Setup Team Window. Unfortunately, this is all we can "pay" you for your help.

We regret we had to make this change but feel that it will result in even better support for our users, and allow us to focus on continuing to make great freeware. Please remember: Xteq Systems is not a "normal" company, it's just a private, after-real-life project so our time is limited. All our products are real freeware (not banner-sponsored or spyware enabled) for more than 99% of our customers, so we can not simply hire a support engineer. And as we want to provide this free service in the future also, this step is hard but necessary, we are sorry.

Thank you for your time and wishing you all the best,

Sincerely,

TeX HeX
